Defy Media, the parent company of YouTube giants Smosh and Clevver is shutting down and laying off all its employees. The news comes after reports that the company was closing its office in Beverly Hills on Jan 2.
Co-founder of Smosh Ian Hecox tweeted on Tuesday stating that Smosh is “already in the process of finding a new home and will update you all as soon as we can.”

Joslyn Davis, executive producer and host at Clevver also tweeted on Tuesday stating that Clevver is looking for a new home.

Smosh currently has more than 23 million subscribers on YouTube. ClevverTV has more than 2 million subscribers in addition to the 4 million subscribers on its news channel and almost 3 million subscribers on its style channel.
