As per the details offered by a recent report of TechCrunch, one of America’s biggest telecom company, AT&T is now going ahead with its somewhat crappy plan of misleading its customers by modifying the name of its Enhanced 4G mobile network to ‘5G E’. This alteration took place rather recently after AT&T rolled out an update and as a result, the devices now show that they are wedded into a ‘5G E’ network, which in reality is only a slightly enhanced version of 4G.
Of course, ‘5G E’ is not an actual 5G network, merely just a term that AT&T uses in referring to its “5G Evolution,” which is simply a form of enhanced 4G consisting of features such as 4X4 MIMO, 256 QAM etc. among so many others. Even though, these kind of techniques does result in a much quicker transfer of information, however, they are not at all in whatever possible way 5G.
Notably, the company also plans to elevate the prices for its 5G network significantly that they are presently working on right now and is most probably going to arrive at its launching in the near future. Last month, it was keyed out by CNET that AT&T had told them “5G brings capabilities that are going to cause us to think differently about pricing. We expect pricing to be at a premium to what we charge today.”
